Overview

Max Powder sought a complete rebrand to achieve a more up-to-date look and feel. They required a website that would function seamlessly across all devices, both small and large, with the capability to manage prices, photo galleries, and other important information.

The rebrand and design aimed to convey the high-quality work produced by Max Powder. The objective was to maintain minimal content while making effective use of photography and emphasising customer feedback regarding their services.

Brand Identity

We began investigating various typefaces that resonated with the words “max” and “powder,” placing greater emphasis on “max.”

Avant Garde, one of our personal favourite typefaces, emerged as the perfect candidate for the vision we had in mind. Inspired by the FedEx logo created by Lindon Leader, we manipulated the typeface to adopt a similar style, which we felt worked exceptionally well.

Style guide and visual design

An important process involved the preparation of designed elements on pages, ensuring a carefully selected typeface and a responsive scale to maintain vertical rhythm.

The design system included meticulously crafted elements that encompassed everything from buttons and grids to colours, icons, form elements, and more, all aimed at defining the style and image for Max Powder.

Managing their content

ExpressionEngine was used as the content management system for Max Powder and was a perfect fit for this type of project. It is flexible, secure, and highly powerful.

The company has the ability to manage most of their site content, ranging from prices to photo galleries, which was precisely what they desired.

Quality assurance

We ensure that the website is secure and running at its best. It is also fully accessible, search engine friendly, and up to date. We use Google Lighthouse as an automated testing tool to improve the quality of Max Powder.

The results

We delivered a complete brand identity, including logo design, to be used on various materials such as signage, business cards, and invoices. We also designed and built the website from scratch to fulfil the needs of the client.

Thanks to Trevor, we now have a wonderful transformation of our website. We have come out of the dark ages and finally have a mobile/tablet-friendly website. Website design is not my area of expertise, so it was refreshing having Trevor bring ideas and implement them wonderfully
